In this age and time....let's listen to our students thoughts outloud when asked the 

following question: if you had the chance to live your life again what would you 

prefer to be a man or a woman?

APRENEM PRIMERS AUXILIS AMB LA CREU ROJA

Jornada de formació en primers auxilis dels alumnes de batxillerat a càrrec de la Creu Roja. Tots plegats, alumnes i professors, vam aprendre i gaudir alhora. Moltes gràcies a la Creu Roja per la seva col.laboració desinteressada i a tots els alumnes pel seu interès i bon comportament.

 

 

Fem pràctiques de biologia amb 1r de Batxillerat

IDENTIFIQUEM PROTEÏNES

Amb l’alumnat de Biologia de 1r de batxillerat hem estat estudiant les biomolècules.

Hem fet pràctiques per identificar els diferents compostos (glúcids, lípids i pròtids) al llarg del primer

trimestre del curs.

L’última setmana vam aplicar la reacció de Biuret per identificar proteïnes. Aquesta reacció aprofita

que els ions de coure en medi bàsic es coordinen amb l’enllaç peptídic, típic dels pròtids, donant

un compost de color violat.

Així hem vist que tant la clara com el rovell de l’ou presenten unes concentracions de proteina

molt elevades, la llet una concentració més moderada i el suc gairebé no té proteïnes.

Aquí els tenim “treballant” al laboratori:

Línia de dalt: 3 mostres de suc (negatives) i 3 de llet (positives)

Línia de baix: 2 mostres de rovell d’ou, 2 de clara i una de llet (positives)

If you were to be re-born would you rather be a man or a woman?

Men and women are vastly different in spite of them being part of the same species, however, is being one more advantageous than being the other? To begin with, women are more restricted when going out as they might feel fear of going out alone at night and might even hesitate in doing so during the day due to catcalling. In addition to this, social standards and stereotyping tend to force women to settle down and raise a family, something which can hinder their academic and working future. Finally, even if women do find a stable job they are at risk of earning less than expected due to the assumption of their maternity leave, therefore causing them to generate less income. To conclude, if I was to be reincarnated in a next life I would choose to be a man as there are still many problems left to fix when it comes to the general social perception and attitude towards women.

What does it mean to be a woman?

Nowadays, society tends to make men’s lives easier than women’s. But why do we have to choose the easy way? Being a girl represents all the effort and hard work we put in fighting for our rights and achieving our goals, as we don’t have so many work offers and good apportunities as men do. Furthermore, there is an obvious difference talking about maturity in men and women. This characteristic helps us in being more organised and because of this we got better academic results generally speaking. Moreover, we speak more about what we think and feel and as a consequence we are more likely to solve our problems than men do. In the end, no one is going to do things for you, so if you are ready to fight and work hard you are going to be more prepared than men, and as we have less means we are used to it.
